This place doesn't look like your typical ramen restaurant with its white and grey interior and Artek tables and chairs. When I stepped into the restaurant around half past eleven, half an hour after they opened, it was already half full with a queue in front of the cashier. There were office workers having lunch during lunch break, family with kids enjoying their free time, and me, coming to check this new ramen restaurant in town and looking forward to a good, warm bowl of ramen.
難得在赫爾辛基的拉麵店辣味選擇不是擔擔麵而是辣味豚骨,那我勢必得試一試。紅紅的一碗拉麵冒著熱氣,看起來猶如岩漿但是其實完全不辣,應該還是為了在地的顧客調整了辣度。叉燒的醬油味重稍微偏鹹,但肉質非常柔軟;細麵緊緊沾附著湯汁,味道濃厚卻不過重,吃完後齒頰留香但不會黏膩口渴負擔。搭配我最熟悉的伊藤園無糖綠茶更加清新。
It was quite rare to see spicy tonkotsu on the menu when the spicy option was usually tan tan in most ramen restaurants in Helsinki. And that's the reason why I definitely had to try it. The ramen looked so red, like a bowl of lava, but was in fact not spicy at all to me. I guess they had adjusted a bit for local customers. It tasted rich but not heavy, with broth coated thin noodles so bouncy, soy sauce flavoured chashu so tender, and red onion cubes so refreshing. With iced green tea, I would say the meal was well-balanced.
份量剛剛好偏小巧,除了叉燒、蔥花和紅洋蔥丁點綴外並沒有額外的配料,菜單上也只有拉麵和飲料可選,希望未來有更多配菜可以點,或是加麵?或是加白飯?在此許願有一天可以在赫爾辛基找到蒜味拉麵,就算要我自己壓蒜泥也可以。
Upon finishing my lunch, I was thinking, it would be really nice if there were sides to add some variety to this meal. And I really hope that one day I'll be able to find garlic flavoured ramen in Helsinki, even if I'd have to crush garlics myself.
